A street mural that once read, “Black Lives Matter,” was partially erased to say, “All Lives Matter” instead.

Police are investigating an incident in which someone erased a “Black Lives Matter” mural in a Chicago, Illinois, neighborhood overnight Wednesday and altered it to read, “All Lives Matter,” prompting greater protest in the area.

“It makes me want to cry that this is the kind of world we’re living in right now,” said protester Aretha James to Fox 32 Chicago. “You think you’re moving forward, and then someone does this.”
