The closer Americans get to actually learning all the details behind the biggest political scandal in the history of our country – Russiagate – the more nervous Democrats who helped conceal it are getting.

Count Sen. Charles Schumer of New York among them.

In addition to Russian collusion truthers like Rep. Eric “Nukem” Swalwell and his California colleague, Rep. Adam Schiff, the Senate minority leader is going all-out to not only deny the American people the details, but to ensure that the lies continue to live on, all while protecting the ‘alleged’ criminality of the Obama administration.

Last week, Senate Judiciary Committee chairman Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) finally made good on a years-long pledge to launch a legitimate investigation into Russiagate by first calling witnesses to testify.

The first witness will be former Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein, who renewed a FISA warrant in 2017, allowing the FBI to continue spying on onetime Trump campaign adviser Carter Page – months after the president was inaugurated. Graham will reportedly ask Rosenstein about that; he’s scheduled to testify June 3 and has already said he would show up.

That said, Schumer wants Republicans to cancel the hearings, claiming that the chamber has better things to do than to learn more about an unprecedented attempt to drive a duly elected president from office like dirty politicians in third-world banana republics would do.

“With our country in crisis, Senate Republicans have become a conspiracy caucus,” the New York hypocrite – who once called for public hearings for Trump associates – wrote in a letter to fellow Democrats. “Leader McConnell should instruct these committees to cancel these conspiracy hearings.”

This comes after Schumer and other Democrats regularly pushed the hoax that the 2016 Trump campaign ‘colluded with Russia to steal the election’ from Hillary Clinton.

“On guns and on Russian collusion investigation, the silence of my Republican Senate colleagues is deafening,” he tweeted in February 2018.
