After the coronavirus wreaked havoc and death in China, the Marxist nation, as well as India and Taiwan banned the export of face masks in order to reserve the supply for their own nations. In fact, China even took over an American factory and nationalized it, causing further disruption to the supply chain to the United States!
Unfortunately, for decades, American manufacturers have been exporting factories, into China, which has resulted in most of our medical supplies, over-the-counter and prescription medications, test kits, and other medicinal items to be imported, rather than made in the USA! Now, it has created a problem, as Americans are now dependent on the supply from foreign nations!
Fortunately, due to the President’s tariffs, some of the manufacturing has returned to the United States, but not enough! As a result, hospitals, doctors offices, pharmacies, and other places who either sell the items, or use the items are short supplies, or out of stock, leaving America vulnerable! Therefore, as the coronavirus has spread rapidly throughout the world, many of the necessary items are unavailable to most of the population! In fact, the National Community Pharmacists Association did a survey and found that nearly 96 percent of U.S. pharmacists said the coronavirus has led to shortages and nearly 40 percent don’t have enough N95 respirators as retailers wait to restock shelves.
Now, as a result, Reuters is reporting that President Trump could use his Executive authority to invoke the Defense Production Act, to help ramp up production of protective gear here in the United States of America, thus bypassing the dependency on China and foreign nations!

Also, Reuters reported on Thursday that…
President Donald Trump’s administration is considering invoking special powers through a law called the Defense Production Act to rapidly expand domestic manufacturing of protective masks and clothing to combat the coronavirus in the United States, two U.S. officials told Reuters.
The use of the law, passed by Congress in 1950 at the outset of the Korean War, would mark an escalation of the administration’s response to the outbreak. The virus first surfaced in China and has since spread to other countries including the United States.
U.S. health officials have told Americans to begin preparing for the spread of the virus in the United States.
Thankfully, we have a President who has been pro-active from the start, by shutting down travel to heavily infected nations, creating quarantine zones, and working with localities! Now, not only is the President ramping up production of necessary medical supplies to prepare for the possible widespread infections, but reports also indicate that he has been in close communication with Israel, where their scientists claim to be within 90 days of being able to have a reproducible vaccine!
Thank you, President Trump, for you and your administration’s diligent work in looking out for, and protecting the American people!
