As the abortion debate rears its head again, new data has emerged, which has revealed that the number one cause of death around the globe is no longer heart disease or cancer, plagues or even unhealthy living! Instead, abortion has now racked up more of a body count than any of those diseases or health problems!

In fact, Life News reported that…

More human beings died in abortions than any other cause of death in 2018, a new report indicates.

A heartbreaking reminder about the prevalence of abortion, statistics compiled by Worldometers indicate that there were nearly 42 million abortions world-wide in 2018. The independent site collects data from governments and other reputable organizations and then reports the data, along with estimates and projections, based on those numbers.

Also, Breitbart News contrasted the number of abortions to other causes of death, including cancer, HIV/AIDS, traffic accidents and suicide, and found that abortions far outnumbered every other cause.

The report states…

As of December 31, 2018, there have been some 41.9 million abortions performed in the course of the year, Worldometers revealed. By contrast, 8.2 million people died from cancer in 2018, 5 million from smoking, and 1.7 million died of HIV/AIDS. …

It also records the total number of abortions in the world, based on the latest statistics on abortions published by the World Health Organization (WHO).

Globally, just under a quarter of all pregnancies (23 percent) were ended by abortion in 2018, and for every 33 live births, ten infants were aborted.

Life News added…

Worldometers estimates about 59 million deaths world-wide in 2018, but that number does not include unborn babies’ abortion deaths. Unborn babies are not recognized as human beings even though biology indicates that they are unique, living human beings from the moment of conception and they die brutal, violent deaths in abortions.

The abortion number is incomprehensible, but each of those 42 million abortions represents a living human being whose life was violently destroyed in their mother’s womb. Each unborn baby already had their own unique DNA, making them distinct from their mother. That DNA indicated if the child was a boy or girl, their eye and hair color, their height, possible genetic disorders and other disabilities, and much more. In most cases, the unborn babies’ hearts are beating when they are aborted, too.

In America, just under 1 million babies are aborted every year. Though abortion rates have been dropping in the past decade, abortion remains the leading cause of death in the United States as well.

An estimated 60 million unborn babies have been killed in abortions in the U.S. since Roe v. Wade in 1973. In January, pro-life advocates will gather for the annual March for Life in Washington, D.C. to remember the anniversary of that infamous decision and call for restored protections for the unborn.

The Washington Examiner even reported that…

If I asked you what the leading cause of death in the world is, I imagine the first answer to pop into your mind would be a disease such as cancer. It wouldn’t be a bad guess — cancer kills more than 8 million people every year. But it’s not the right answer.

You might then consider AIDS or smoking or alcohol-related deaths — or perhaps even traffic accidents. Combined, the four are responsible for the deaths of over 11 million people around the world.

But the leading cause of death in the world is none of those. In fact, it kills more people than all of them combined.

In 2018, 41.9 million pregnancies were prematurely terminated, making abortion the leading cause of death in the world. The staggering figure was tallied by Worldometers, a site which aggregates statistical data from sources such as the World Health Organization.

Yet unlike most of the other leading causes of death in the world, abortion is almost 100 percent preventable. Case in point: In the U.S., 9 out of 10 abortions are elective. That is to say they are performed not for medical reasons but because the baby is not wanted.

I wonder what would happen if we viewed abortion the same way we view smoking or cancer. Would it remain the leading cause of death in the world if we ran public service campaigns to dissuade women from seeking abortions, as we do for smoking? Or if we spent billions of dollars on research to save lives, as we do with cancer?

After all, if we viewed abortion in the same way as we do Cancer or heart disease, imagine how many lives we could save!

Fortunately, we have a President who cares about the sanctity of human lives! In fact, just last year, President Trump vowed to end the Obama era taxpayer subsidization of abortions, and now it appears that President Trump is following through on yet another 2016 campaign promise that he made to the American voters! This week, President Trump stated…

“For decades, American taxpayers have been wrongfully forced to subsidize the abortion industry through Title X federal funding. So today, we have kept another promise. My administration has proposed a new rule to prohibit Title X funding from going to any clinic that performs abortions.”

ONN (One America News) reported

The Trump administration is taking another dig at abortion rights. The Department of Health and Human Services announced new regulations for health clinics funded under Title X.

Title X is a federal grant program, which subsidizes family planning and preventative health services for low income families. The regulations, also known as the Protect Life Rule, was first announced by the president last year, and would bar clinics from referring or provide abortion services to patients.

Although no money has been cut from the grant reserve, it will only go towards clinics who are eligible under the new rule. Planned Parenthood, for example, would be stripped of around $60 million in federal funding for its clinics, which refer for abortion services and are co-located with abortion facilities.

According to reports, Planned Parenthood currently serves about 40-percent of all clients who benefit from Title X and $4 million people nationwide. Without the federal grants, it will now use its emergency funds.

Several organizations filed emergency petitions to block the administration from enforcing the regulations, however, the Department of Health and Human Services claims there is no judicial order which would prevent the president from enacting the rule while it is being litigated.

The Bible says that we have an obligation to preserve the body and life of other people, and those in danger…

Psalm 82:4 Rescue the weak and needy; Deliver them out of the hand of the wicked.

It even instructs us, that we have a duty to preserve the lives of those who are even trying to, or who are harming themselves…

Proverbs 24:11-12 Rescue those who are being taken away to death; hold back those who are stumbling to the slaughter. If you say, “Behold, we did not know this,”   does not he who  weighs the heart perceive it?   Does not he who keeps watch over your soul know it, and will he not repay man according to his work?

In other words, we have an obligation to not only protect ourselves and our loved ones, but we have an obligation to fight for those who cannot fight for themselves! We have an obligation to fight for the unborn, as they are conceived in the image of God, and they have a right to life, just as those of us who are able to speak up for our own lives, our own safety, and the safety of those we love!

Ultimately, we should fight to find a cure for cancer, heart disease, AIDS, and other diseases or medical conditions! However, why do we fight to find a cure for diseases and conditions that are so very difficult to prevent, and many times are preventable by healthy living while refusing to cure the curable, the slaughter of millions upon millions of innocent babies, who have never done anything wrong?

Fortunately, President Trump and his Administration are furthering the fight to protect not only women’s rights, but they are also fighting for the lives of babies as well! Today, Democrats are fighting for the right to use taxpayers money to fund tens of thousands of abortions, even if it violates that taxpayers religious beliefs and rights, and all without demanding that abortion providers making sure that pregnant women know all the facts and truths about the abortion procedure or their unborn babies! Fortunately, we finally have a President who is willing to fight for not only Christians and mothers but for the lives of our nations innocent babies as well!
