Nancy Pelosi had originally passed a humanitarian bill earlier, only to fill it with all kinds of explosive add-ins, as she tried to get amnesty for illegal aliens, as well as other left-wing goodies, rather than providing a clean humanitarian bill, as the one passed in the Senate chamber, and in bipartisan fashion!
Then, Pelosi vowed to change the Senate bill, and re-insert the explosive add-ins once again. However, with tremendous pressure coming from the Trump Administration and Congressional Republicans, as well as, her fear of the fall-out, should she be responsible for failing to meet illegal aliens needs, she caved!
Therefore, Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) announced that the House would vote on a clean emergency Senate bill passed Wednesday by an 84-8 bi-partisan vote that funds border crisis humanitarian needs. Pelosi tried to save face, by issuing a statement and saying that…
“the children come first.”
Pelosi released the following statement…
Dear Colleague on Our Continuing Fight for the Children
JUNE 27, 2019
Dear Democratic Colleague,
It is my belief that our country is at a moment of truth in acting upon our values with the policies we present. I am proud of the work of our Appropriations Committee in the House in passing a bill that received overwhelming Democratic support on Tuesday.
The current situation on the border is shameful and does not reflect our values. We don’t need anyone, especially the U.S. Senate, to tell us what the needs are at the border. Our Members are very well-versed and excellent representatives of the regions that are affected. But we want to find a path to improve the conditions under which we are addressing and ministering to the needs of children and families there.
We are gravely disappointed in the actions taken by the Senate in opposing regular order of Congress.
We will continue to fight for our values and priorities in our legislation and beyond. Our strongest ally in getting a better policy than that which was passed by the Republican Senate is public opinion. The American people constantly question, “Why aren’t we doing a better job to respect the dignity and worth of the children, the children, the children?”
The children come first. At the end of the day, we have to make sure that the resources needed to protect the children are available. Therefore, we will not engage in the same disrespectful behavior that the Senate did in ignoring our priorities. In order to get resources to the children fastest, we will reluctantly pass the Senate bill.
As we pass the Senate bill, we will do so with a Battle Cry as to how we go forward to protect children in a way that truly honors their dignity and worth.
Thank you for your continued leadership to protect families, honor our values and keep America safe.
Meanwhile, RNC Spokeswoman Elizabeth Harrington responded to Pelosi’s giving into the President’s demands for a clean humanitarian package for the illegal aliens, rather than one hijacked with partisan self-serving goodies, by posting a clip of when Pelosi disrespected the President during his State of the Union speech in February…
Now, President Trump will be able to get the Border Patrol and Ice the necessary supplies they need to help take care of the migrant children and adults! Meanwhile, the President continues to see if Pelosi will allow Congressional Democrats to reform asylum laws, as he demanded, in exchange for postponing the immigration raids on illegals slated for deportation! Therefore, Pelosi better get to work, because the two weeks will be up very quickly!
