Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) is now facing ethics questions after her office gave her boyfriend a congressional email account. It all began when AOC

The democratic socialist waded into the issue in response to a tweet alleging boyfriend Riley Roberts had been put on staff. The tweet included a screenshot of an official House email address. Ocasio-Cortez insisted that he was only given the email account so he could access her calendar.

“Actually this calendar designation is a permission so he can have access to my Google Calendar. Congressional spouses get Gcal access all the time,” Ocasio-Cortez wrote, after political consultant Luke Thompson tweeted the picture showing Roberts having an official account like other staffers on the Hill. “Next time check your facts before you tweet nonsense.”

Asked about the arrangement, David O’Boyle, the spokesperson for the Office of the Chief Administrative Officer, told Fox News: “From time to time, at the request of members, spouses and partners are provided House email accounts for the purposes of viewing the member’s calendar.”

But Jason Chaffetz, former chairman of the House Oversight Committee, said Ocasio-Cortez’ claims don’t stack up.

“It’s totally naïve and inappropriate – you wouldn’t allow it in most companies, let alone the House of Representatives. There should be real consequences,” Chaffetz told Fox News.

“It’s totally naïve and inappropriate – you wouldn’t allow it in most companies, let alone the House of Representatives. Being given a password to get into the House computer system has other potentially problematic issues”

The freshman congresswoman, who is a self-described socialist, also campaigned on a platform to expand affordable housing, and her controversial Green New Deal proposal promised: “Safe, affordable, adequate housing” for all. In addition, she repeatedly criticized luxury real estate developers during her campaign, as she said that their buildings hiked rent prices and pushed low-income residents out of their neighborhoods. However, now that she is in power, she is living in part of a luxury complex whose owners specifically do not offer affordable units under Washington, D.C.’s Affordable Dwelling Units program. In fact, in 2018, a pro-Socialist based attorney sued the D.C. government for discriminatory policies, and claimed that the development in the Navy Yard area encouraged and attrackted affluent “millennial’s” who displaced minority residents.

Last year, Ocasio-Cortez said

Also, she promised that she wouldn’t take campaign contributions from luxury developers during her campaign. “It’s time we stand up to the luxury developer lobby,” she said

However, now she has assimilated into the DC Left-wing Elitism, as her new apartment includes…

  • two private massage rooms with state-of-the-art hydrotherapy beds
  • men’s and women’s sauna
  • a full-scale demonstration kitchen with wood-fired pizza oven
  • a 25-meter indoor lap pool; a rooftop infinity pool with panoramic views of the Capitol
  • a Peloton cycling studio with over a dozen bikes
  • PGA-grade golf simulation lounge with a wrap-around screen and viewing bar that allows residents to play virtually at dozens of the world’s most exclusive golf courses with the touch of a button
  • and a fireside lounge featuring a Steinway & Sons player piano.

Currently, as the average DC apartment costs between $1340 and $1550, the apartments in her building range from $1,840 per month for a 440 square foot studio to $5,200 for a three bedroom apartment.

In all, Ocasio-Cortez has become ONE OF the most controversial members of Congress on record, as she is proving to be not only ignorant of how the government works, clueless as to finance and expenditures, fake in regards to what she claims to be fighting against, and corrupt in how she runs her Congressional office! Sadly, it seems that it isn’t only a problem isolated to Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, but a problem for the Democrat Party and the Washington DC swamp, in general!
