A hero from Benghazi Mark Geist was a member of the Annex Security Team that fought the Battle of Benghazi, Libya, from September 11 to September 12, 2012.

However, his history is filled with that of service to our nation, in countless ways! He originally had joined the United States Marine Corps in 1984, and served in the Philippines, and then with the 2nd Battalion 9th Marines Golf Company, as well as the Surveillance and Target Acquisition Platoon. He then was chosen to serve in the newly formed Marine Cadre program as an Anti-/Counter- Terrorism Instructor. After his tour, he re-enlisted and changed his military occupational specialty to the Intelligence field, specializing in Interrogation Translation, and so he attended a language school to study Persian Farsi. After serving 12 years in the United States Maine Corps, Mr. Geist became a Deputy Sheriff in Teller County, Colorado. He worked with a Vice Narcotics and Intelligence Unit, and an investigator for crimes against children, where he helped to catch and to secure convictions of the criminal assailants! Mr. Geist then became the Chief of Police in Fowler, Colorado, and eventually began his own business in private investigations.

Then, in 2004, Geist began doing contract security work in Iraq. He worked for Triple Canopy, providing Personal Security Details for Department of State personnel in Baquba, Iraq. Upon the completion of that contract, he worked for USIS, the United States Investigative Services, training Iraqi SWAT teams and Personal Security Details. He also served as a mentor/advisor to the Personal Security Detail of Dr. Ayad Allawi, the former Prime Minister of Iraq. He then worked as a security contractor in Benghazi, Libya, where he was credited with helping to save the lives of more than 25 Americans, in which he sustained severe injuries. Mr. Geist is still recovering from the injuries he sustained in the battle, and he is a co-author of the bestselling book 13 Hours: The Inside Account of What Really Happened in Benghazi.

Now, Mark Geist has started Nine Line Apparel, in which his company produced a Super Bowl ad, that is asking Americans to “just stand” for the national anthem, out of respect for all those in America who have served, continue to serve, or have even died, whether they serve in the armed forces, as firemen, police, or any other branch of service in uniform! The ad was paid for and ready to air for the super bowl, but anti-American NFL and CBS have announced that they won’t air it.

The Washington Examiner reported

A veteran-owned apparel company’s pro-flag Super Bowl TV ad that punches back at Nike’s promotion of Colin Kaepernick and his national anthem protests has been rejected by CBS.

According to the firm, Nine Line Apparel, CBS was apparently not satisfied the firm could pay for the 45-second ad, despite having annual revenues of $25 million. A spokesman for Nine Line charged that CBS didn’t like the ad’s content.

The ad features soldiers, first responders, and images of military graves decorated with American flags and gives credit to them for protecting the rights of those like Kaepernick to protest.

It appears to open up where the ad Kaepernick narrated and starred in ended.

Nike’s minutelong ad, which debuted at the beginning of the 2018 NFL season to great fanfare and controversy, shows Kaepernick at the end saying, “So don’t ask if your dreams are crazy. Ask if they are crazy enough.”

Therefore, remember that while we as Americans have the freedoms and privileges to watch and support organizations like the NFL or CBS, we must consider the consequences of those actions. In all, we are supporting all those who disrespect those who have fought for our rights, bled to protect our family and nation, and even died to protect and to give us those liberties!

Consequently, remember that OUR ACTIONS MATTER, whether it be who we support, who we chose to fight for, and yes WHO WE WATCH and both physically and financially support! While not all Americans will choose to stand with liberty and those who fought for and died to defend it, I will draw the line in the sand and stand by our sons and daughters in uniform. I will stand by our neighbors who sacrifice their loved ones! I stand beside our police and firemen who put their lives on the line to protect our families from harm! I stand by our immigration and border patrol officers who are trying to stop drugs from reaching our neighborhoods and homes! I stand by them as they fight to stop human and child traffickers from destroying the lives of the youth!

Therefore, while CBS and the NFL choose crime and hate over what matters in life, I choose to stand on the right side! I stand by America, and all the American heroes our glorious nation has been blessed with by God!
