This week, the University of Notre Dame President, John Jenkins announced that it would cover up their 134-year-old murals of Christopher Columbus, over its depiction of Native Americans. Ironically, the depiction is accurate of history, but as Marxist ideology continues to grow and grip the United States, it has now seeped deep into the bowels of both the Catholic church hierarchy and especially on college campuses like Notre Dame.

The Notre Dame President said…

“We wish to preserve artistic works originally intended to celebrate immigrant Catholics who were marginalized at the time in society, but do so in a way that avoids unintentionally marginalizing others.”

Many believe that the removal stemmed from a petition that a group of 340 students signed that called it Notre Dame’s version of a “Confederate monument”, as they demanded the murals depicting the history of Columbus be removed.

However, one thing is quite ironic! Whether it be Fascist or Marxist, Socialist have always used the eradication of knowledge as the cornerstone in their takeover of civilizations. In fact, even Germany’s Nazi Party used students in 1933 as a prequel to the destruction of what they determined was not ‘politically correct’ literature and art’! It began with student parades, preceded by a bonfire and chants, as the students discarded literature deemed offensive, unacceptable, and politically incorrect by Adolf Hitler and his Nazi Political Party!

Unfortunately, America is headed down that same path, as the Progressive Marxists now push for eradicating history of the Civil War, Christopher Columbus, and even our Founding Fathers. Ultimately, it will lead to the burning of our Constitution and all the freedoms and privileges that it bestows upon ‘We the People’. Sadly, if there is one thing history has shown us through time, is that ‘those who don’t learn from history are doomed to repeat it’, and it goes double for those who forget history altogether!
