On Friday, Democrat Representative Eric Swalwell (D-CA) wrote an oped in the USA Today titled…

Ban Assault Weapons, Buy Them Back, Go After Resisters”

Representative Eric Swalwell (D-CA)

Swallwell has been a long-time advocate of ending the 2nd Amendment of the United States Constitution, but this time he escalated his attack and warned American gun owners, that any fight over firearms would be “a short one,” because the federal government has an extensive cache of nuclear weapons.

NBC reported:

In a USA Today op-ed entitled “Ban assault weapons, buy them back, go after resisters,” Rep. Eric Swalwell, D-Calif., argued Thursday that prior proposals to ban assault weapons “would leave millions of assault weapons in our communities for decades to come.”

Swalwell proposes that the government should offer up to $1,000 for every weapon covered by a new ban, estimating that it would take $15 billion to buy back roughly 15 million weapons — and “criminally prosecute any who choose to defy [the buyback] by keeping their weapons.”

Following the op-ed that he wrote, conservative commentator and former combat veteran Joe Biggs criticized Swalwells threat to confinscate nearly all guns, but especially AR-15’s, as Swalwell labeled them military grade weapons. Biggs said…

Biggs then elaborated about to Swalwell’s threats citing…

Representative Swalwell responded by stating…

@RepSwalwell

And it would be a short war my friend. The government has nukes. Too many of them. But they’re legit. I’m sure if we talked we could find common ground to protect our families and communities.

Biggs responded by stating…

Joe Biggs

@Rambobiggs

So our government would nuke its own country in order to take guns? Wow

Swalwell replied…

Rep. Eric Swalwell

@RepSwalwell

Don’t be so dramatic. You claiming you need a gun to protect yourself against the government is ludicrous. But you seem like a reasonable person. If an assault weapons ban happens, I’m sure you’ll follow law.

Rep. Eric Swalwell

@RepSwalwell

Don’t be so dramatic. No one is nuking anyone or threatening that. I’m telling you this is not the 18th Century. The argument that you would go to war with your government if an assault weapons ban was in place is ludicrous and inflames the gun debate. Which is what you want.

Replying to @RepSwalwell

In the end, Swalwell, just like many democrats have, at least during post-election or non-election years, vowed to de-arm the American people, in their quest for power. However, in this exchange it showed just how far the left will go, so long as they believe that they can get away with it.
