Earlier this week, CNN filed suit that claimed that the Trump administration was violating their First and Fifth Amendment rights, when they revoked Chief White House correspondent Jim Acosta’s press credentials.

It started when the White House took away Acosta’s hard pass last week after he began arguing with the President, and refused to give up the microphone to a White House intern. Then, a video of Acosta putting his hands on the intern was revealed, and Acosta’s credentials were revoked.

Then, on Friday morning,  Judge Timothy J. Kelly issued an injunction that has ordered the White House to reinstate CNN’s Jim Acosta’s press pass. CNN was arguing that Acosta’s First Amendment rights trump the White House’s right to a peaceful, non-aggressive, and orderly press room.

Judge Kelly agreed with the White House that there is no First Amendment right to be on the White House grounds, but he went on to say that Acosta did not receive due process before his pass was revoked. The Judge then went on to explain that the Trump Administration is not required to call on Acosta at press events, but he said that Jim Acosta’s First Amendment rights are more important than the White House being able to have orderly press conferences.

In the end, this case is not over, as Judge Kelly has only provided temporary relief to CNN, but there will be more hearings, and an official ruling to be handed down in the coming days.

UPDATE…

The White House released a statement reading…

“Today, the court made clear that there is no absolute First Amendment right to access the White House. In response to the court, we will temporarily reinstate the reporter’s hard pass. We will also further develop rules and processes to ensure fair and orderly press conferences in the future.

There must be decorum at the White House.”

In the end, IT IS INSANITY that they would force the White House to have such a hate-filled, vile, and aggressive individual within the White House grounds. However, it todays extremely vile environment, it is no longer surprising. However in the end, the Trump Administration will prevail, and hate-filled disruptors will no longer be a part of the Press briefings. Until then, President Trump and the White House will tolerate his childish and imbecile rhetoric, as they try to get out the news, regardless of the Mainstream Media ‘Resistance’.
