On Monday, Reuters reporter Patricia Zengerle posted on twitter a suggestion to give each migrant $1 Million dollars to go back home. She claimed that it would save the United States government $175 Million overall. However, not only is her math wildly inaccurate, but it would create a precedent that encourages every foreigner in the world to try to invade our nation, so they could collect a quick million. She tweeted…

Patricia Zengerle has since deleted the tweet, and admitted that her math was off. In fact It was WAY OFF! In fact, just the first caravan, which consists of 7,000 illegals, would cost the American taxpayer $7 Billion dollars. That doesn’t account for the second or third caravan, or the illegals already in the United States already. As a result, it could end up costing tens of billions of dollars annually. Compare that to building a border wall, as the President has proposed. A  study from the Center for Immigration Studies found that the wall would have an $18 billion dollar price tag to cover the U.S. southern border. Also, they said that if the wall helped the U.S. curb the importation of drugs, crime, and poverty—particularly among illegal aliens who tend to go on the federal government dole, it would more than pay for itself. In fact, Steven Camarota, who is the Director of Research at the Center for Immigration Studies told the New York Post…

“The wall could pay for itself even if it only modestly reduced illegal crossings and drug smuggling.”

Therefore, instead of worrying about how much it is costing for the President to secure the border with troops, barbed wire, or other measures, maybe we should just ‘BUILD THE WALL’. After all, it is the most effective deterrent to stop illegal immigration, and the most cost-effective. Also, it will keep our family, friends, neighbors, and fellow Americans SAFE!
